味辛、苦，温，有大毒，主蠱疰諸毒疼痛等。生齊、魯山澤。
唐本注云：葉似蕨，根紫色。若紫草根，一株有二十許，一月。八月採根，五月、六月採苗日乾。唐本先附。
唐本餘注云：圖經：岀齊州、兖州山谷間。
