俗呼胡波薐，書爲美菜。性善。生河北。葉青花紫。生甲己，死丁壬。治惡瘡。應夏至節，白露後採用。
歌曰：
薐頭片片剪刀裁，每歲眞人自送來。
欲得紫房無紫艷，拈來共煮石中胎。
