古人畫大山，必山之輪廓向背並聳，意已先定，然後皴之。其山脚下必不可無，亦必不何多。今人從碎石起手，積成大山者多矣，雖古書云崔嵬不崩賴此峽，然以之論畫，最是病。古人大畫中雖多細碎處，要之取勢爲主耳。
