The Ju column tells you which of the eighteen Ju applies in that hour; the Yin or Yang Dun prefix follows the solar term automatically.
The Duty Star palace is the pivot of the whole chart and the Duty Gate palace is where action happens; both are marked on the full chart with seals.
For choosing a direction to set out, the three auspicious gates (Open, Rest, Life) are the classical first choice; avoid void palaces for matters that need a solid result.
