A Complete Study of Commercial Shop Fengshui (Esoteric Edition): From Form School and the Luopan to Xuankong Dating
A systematic account of commercial shop fengshui built on the traditional arts themselves — exterior form school (luantou), the Twenty-Four Mountains, Three Cycles Xuankong plotting, doors/paths/registers, annual date selection, Five Phases remediation, and worked case studies.

XXV. The Remediation Logic for Five Yellow, Two Black, Three Jade, and Seven Red
1. Five Yellow: Priority on Stillness and Draining
Five Yellow belongs to Earth, and when it has lost its timing and flies into an active palace, it is most averse to being generated by Fire or reinforced by more Earth. Treatment begins by stopping non-essential renovation, hammering, strong light, and open flame there, and only then draining the Earth with a moderate Metal image. A metal doorbell, round metal parts, or white-gray tones are simply options — the real measure is whether they avoid disturbing customers. One should not use a huge stone or earthen object to "suppress" Five Yellow, since more of the same Earth qi may only add to its image.
If Five Yellow arrives at the stove, and the stove cannot be taken out of use, one should ensure fire safety, smoke exhaust, and the equipment's condition are all sound, reduce extra red color and fire-themed decoration in that palace, and avoid construction there at the same time. If it arrives at the main door, keep the door mechanism steady, with few faults and little collision, relying mainly on its normal opening and closing. Forcibly switching to some small, unauthorized door instead may do more harm than good.
2. Two Black: The Image of Earth Stagnation and Care
Two Black also belongs to Earth, and tradition weights it toward illness and toil. Its remediation likewise often uses Metal to drain it, though the intensity can be gentler, with the emphasis on cleanliness, ventilation, removing damp, staff rest, and food hygiene. Two Black arriving at a staff area does not mean staff are bound to fall ill — it is a traditional prompt turned into preventive maintenance.
Since Fire generates Earth, one should avoid adding high-heat lighting, incense burners, and fiery red decoration in that palace over the long term. If the base chart actually needs Fire as a pass-through for some other Wood-Earth relation, then an overall balance must be weighed, and it may be better to first reduce activity rather than simply removing every trace of Fire. Remediating an Earth star especially calls for avoiding piling ceramic jars, yellow crystal, and heavy stone all in the same palace.
3. Three Jade: A Wood Conflict Is Better Drained Than Directly Controlled
Three Jade's Wood nature is firm and active, and tradition reads it toward dispute and competition. Fire can drain the Wood, turning urgent movement into manifest ritual propriety; a small amount of warm light, a red accent, or clear public notices can carry this Fire image. But if the same palace also holds Two Black or Five Yellow Earth, Fire will in turn generate more Earth, so this cannot be applied mechanically. One can also approach it through stillness — lowering the sound system's volume, reducing pressure to rush, and easing conflicts in the passageway.
Using a heavy amount of metal to directly control the Wood risks creating a clash between Metal and Wood, which is especially unwise to intensify when Three and Seven already share a palace. Commercially, one should at the same time check price labels, contract terms, the return-and-exchange process, and staff scripts. Clear policy is the real-world measure — a Fire-themed arrangement is only a traditional supplement.
4. Seven Red: Sharp Metal Is Better Drained, With Security Reinforced
Seven Red Metal, in its receding period, is commonly read toward theft and loss, dispute, and sharp injury. Water can drain the Metal, and black-blue tones, curved lines, or a moderate water image can be used — though any real moving water must still suit the facing star; reducing sharp metal display items and crisp, jarring noise also helps. Where Seven Red arrives at a cash-handling, jewelry, or knife-and-tool area, monitoring, inventory checks, protective equipment, and operating procedures should be strengthened.
Where Nine Fire controls Seven Metal, forming a clash between Fire and Metal, adding more Fire does not simply control the Metal better and better. One can moderately use Earth as a pass-through, letting Fire generate Earth and Earth generate Metal — but if that Earth in turn meets Two Black or Five Yellow, a further trade-off is needed. The safest approach is usually to weaken the strong active form on both sides at once, and keep the counter surface and the wiring tidy.
5. Remediation Is Not a Prediction of Events
The names of the stars are traditional categories of imagery, and must never be used to diagnose an illness, assign blame, or spread a rumor that misfortune is bound to strike a shop. A report should use action-oriented language such as "note, review, reduce, strengthen" — never phrases like "will certainly fall ill, will certainly be robbed, will certainly quarrel." If a genuine health, safety, or criminal risk is discovered, the relevant professional authority should be contacted.
The evaluation of a remediation, too, should not be proven by a change in revenue. What can actually be checked is whether the arrangement was completed as planned, whether movement and stillness were reduced as intended, whether the equipment functions normally, and whether the passages flow smoothly. Attributing every random fluctuation of business to an object leaves the esoteric judgment with no boundary at all.
